[Watch] 4, 6, 4, 4! Namibia Hammer 21
Runs in Super Over To Jolt Oman
The Namibia Vs Oman T20 World Cup match was expected to
be a snooze-fest, but it turned out to be a cracker of a contest that went down
to the wire, as the fans witnessed the first Super-Over of this World Cup.
Chasing a modest 110, Namibia batters failed to
deliver the goods and surprisingly were restricted to 109, which took the game
to the Super-Over. The total was expected to be chased down, but Oman showed
exceptional fighting spirit and rocked Namibia's easy win plan.
Riding high on confidence, Oman bowlers were
expected to deliver in the Super-Over, but they leaked runs for fun as David
Wiese and skipper Gerhard Erasmus hammered 21 runs to seal the deal for their
side.
Wiese smacked a boundary and a colossal six against
Bilal Khan, and the finishing touches were provided by Erasmus, who ended the
over with a couple of boundaries as Oman were left with too much to achieve in
their batting.
As expected, Oman tried their best, but the
experienced Wiese bowled his heart out and picked up a wicket in the Super-Over
to end Oman's dream of winning the opening T20 World Cup contest.
